Word, Excel and PowerPoint files quietly remember who made them — the author’s name, your
company, who last saved it, when. Open a document to see what it’s carrying, then strip it and save a clean copy.
The document itself stays exactly the same.

Honest about what this does — and doesn’t
Office files (.docx / .xlsx / .pptx) are ZIP packages with a hidden properties section. This
clears the identifying bits — author, last-saved-by, company, manager, revision count, and the created/
modified timestamps — and rebuilds the file. Every other part is copied byte-for-byte, so your
content, formatting, and images are untouched.
It doesn’t change anything visible in the document — a name typed in the text, a signature image,
or tracked-changes you left in are still there. Review the content too.
Older .doc/.xls/.ppt (pre-2007) and PDFs use different formats and aren’t handled here.
Everything runs in your browser — open the page source; nothing is sent.
