Honest about what this does — and doesn’t
- It removes EXIF, XMP and IPTC metadata (GPS location, camera, timestamps, captions) from a JPEG, losslessly — the picture’s pixels are untouched; only the hidden tags are dropped.
- It does not change the image itself. Anything visible in the photo (a street sign, a face, a reflection) is still there. Stripping metadata isn’t anonymity.
- Some apps and sites already strip EXIF when you upload; many don’t. Screenshots usually have none. PNG/HEIC carry metadata differently — this tool focuses on JPEG, where location data most often hides.
- It all runs in your browser. Open the page source if you like — there is no network code; nothing is sent.
