Hold a platform’s moderation dial. Loosen it and harm flourishes; tighten it and legitimate voices are silenced. There’s no setting that harms no one — only a tradeoff to own.

Why these exist. It’s easy to judge the people who run these systems — until you’re in the seat. The dashboard hides the cost; the policy has no clean setting; the AI that promises to make it all easy just makes the same mistakes faster. Wielding power well isn’t about good intentions — it’s about measuring what your metric omits and owning the tradeoffs you can’t escape. These let you feel that from the inside, for a couple of minutes, so the judgment is sharper if you ever hold a real dial.
